Dress Code 

All dancers must wear suitable dancewear for each class. Midriff shirts and sports bras are not proper dance attire for any style. Failure to remember dancewear, shoes, appropriate hairstyle, or unsuitable clothing is not permitted, and after the 2nd occurrence, the dancers will be asked to sit and watch the class. The dress code for FPIM classes is outlined below:

Creative Acro Dance (ages 2-3)

  • Girls- Skin tone footless tights, leotard (any color), and hair pulled back into a secured ponytail, barefoot

  • Boys- jogger pants or active shorts, t-shirt, barefoot 

Petite Ballet/Tap (ages 3-4)

  • Girls- Leotard (any color), convertible skin tone tights, pink laceless ballet shoes and black buckle tap shoes, hair pulled back in a secure ponytail

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, black lace-up tap shoes & Black ballet shoes

Petite Acro Dance (ages 3-4)

  • Girls- Skin tone footless tights, leotard (any color), and hair pulled up into a secured ponytail

  • Boys- jogger pants or active shorts, t-shirt, barefoot

Primary Hip Hop/Acro (ages 5-6)

  • Girls- Leotard (any color), convertible skin tone tights, dance shorts or dance pants, barefoot for acro, and black/white sneakers for hip hop, hair in a secured ponytail

  • Boys- jogger pants or active shorts, t-shirt, barefoot for acro, black and white sneakers for hip hop 

Primary Ballet/Tap/Jazz (ages 5-6)

  • Girls- Leotard (any color), convertible skin tone tights, skin-tone jazz shoes, black buckle tap shoes, hair secured in a ponytail.

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, black  jazz shoes, black lace-up tap shoes

Ballet (A-E)

  • Girls- Any color leotard, Skin color shoes and tights, ballet skirts permitted (no tutu or fluffy skirts), Ballet C/D/E shorts permitted (max inseam 2.5”, must be skin tight), Hair pulled away from face in a bun or french twist,no ponytails.

  • Boys- Any color unitard with skintone/black/white shoes and matching socks or any color ballet shirt/leotard with dance belt, black/white tights, and matching shoes

Pointe & Pre-Pointe

  • Same as Ballet C/D/E. Shoes colored for shows are allowed for class. 

Jazz/Contemporary, Turns/Leaps, Technique, Choreography Class, Stretch/Strength (Level A-E)

  • Girls-Leotard (any color), stirrup skin tone tights with dance shorts or leggings, tan jazz shoes (level A-B), pirouettes (level C-E), hair in a secure bun

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, tan jazz shoes (if wearing basketball shorts please have sliders on underneath)

Silks (ALL CLASSES)

  • Absolutely NO clothing with zippers or buttons, NO Rings, Earrings, Necklaces, Bracelets, Anklets, Watches. Stud earrings with closed backs are acceptable.

  • Girls- Leotard (any color), convertible skin tone tights with dance shorts or leggings (NO T-SHIRTS).

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, barefoot (if wearing basketball shorts please have sliders on underneath). 

Improv and Hip Hop (ALL LEVELS)

  • Girls- T-shirt, leggings, tennis shoes and hair in a secure ponytail. (socks are acceptable for improv)

  • Boys- Jogger pants, t-shirt, and sneakers. (Socks are acceptable for improv)

Tap (LEVEL 1-5)

  • Girls- Leotard (any color), leggings, or convertible skin tone tights with fitted dance shorts (NO gym or track shorts of any kind), black lace-up or pull on tap shoes, hair in secure bun or ponytail

  • Boys- Jogger pants, t-shirt, black lace up tap shoes

Clogging

  • Girls- White Steven Stompers clogging shoes, leotard (any color), t-shirts are permitted, with skin tone convertible tights and fitted dance shorts or leggings, supportive sports bras are required, hair in secure ponytail

  • Boys-White Steven Stompers clogging shoes, jogger pants, t-shirt

Tumbling (ALL CLASSES)

  • Girls- Leotard (any color) and convertible or stirrup  skin tone tights with fitted dance shorts or leggings NO gym or track shorts of any kind), hair in a secure ponytail.

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, barefoot (if wearing basketball shorts please have sliders on underneath)

Broadway

  • Girls - Leotard (any color), leggings, or convertible skin tone tights with fitted dance shorts (NO gym or track shorts of any kind), nude character shoes (younger class-shorter chunkier heel), hair pulled back in a secure ponytail.

  • Boys- jogger pants, t-shirt, skin-tone jazz shoes (if wearing basketball shorts please have sliders on underneath)

 *NOTE: Parents, note that all dancers must have their hair styled appropriately for their classes. If your child arrives at the studio without the necessary supplies and attire, be aware that you will be responsible for purchasing hair ties, any bun accessories required, and tights will be automatically charged to your DSP account and will require payment at the time of drop off or pickup.
